Cherokee Rose

The Cherokee Rose is naturalized along the Trail of Tears (beginning in and around Georgia and ending in Oklahoma). Legend claims that the tears of the Cherokee people, while being forcibly removed from their ancestral lands, mixed with the dust and dirt of the trail and gave rise to this wild and beautiful rose.
